The Truth About What Lead Brokers Hope You Never Find Out!

By Britt Phillips

The web is a great place for opportunity and a level playing field right? Well it depends on who is playing fair and for what side they are playing. This is especially true when it comes to buying leads. Sure leads are the lifeblood of any MLM, business opportunity, or networking program. You must have an endless supply of targeted, fresh, qualified leads to pitch to. The issue at hand here is what's the smartest way to generate the leads you seek.

If you listen to a fast talking lead or list broker they will tell you all the reasons that on the surface sound great as to why you should buy or rent leads and lists from them and only them. And since there are as many or more people selling leadd as their are business opportunties, how do you know who to listen to and who to spend your hard earned dollars with?

If you think this article has an agenda and I'm going to give you an affiliate link at the end to buy leads from me you are wrong. Relax, I'm not here to sell anything. I don't even sell leads anyway. I am the leader of a huge success team working the Coastal Vacations program. I can tell you I didn't become one of the all time top income earners of eleven years because I bought or rented leads!

As with anything there is a hard way and a smart way. If you buy leads you are going to learn quickly that you might as well set your money on fire and throw it out the window as you drive down the road. At least that way you can get some entertainment value out of it even it it only lasts a few seconds.

Lead and list brokers claim to have the perfect list of names. And it never matters what program or opportunity you are working. What gets me is the lead brokers who claim they have the perfect list without first ever asking which program you are working. Gee, I guess they are somehow psychic too... no not hardly. They are simply out to take your money.

Lead brokers will say everything they can think of (and some of them are quite convincing) to get you to buy their leads. And when you call them up afterwards, (you know when zero sales came in as a result of the leads you bought and you got a bunch of underaged kids and people who either filled out a sweepstakes offer online or never opted in for any incentivized offer in the first place) and ask why such a bad response, you will hear them say it is your fault because you didn't work the leads properly. And wouldn't you know it, they have something to sell you to help you discover hopw to wlrk the leads the right way! Lucky you right?

Don't waste your time buying or renting lead lists. Instead spend your money wisely and discover how to generate your own leads. At least you will know exactly how they were generated and that they are really targeted to your market.

Here's a great question to ask people who are trying to sell you leads. "If these leads are so great, why don't you join the opportunity and quietly use these leads to rake in thousands every day?" The answer is usually... "I'm not in the business opportunity business. I'm in the leads business." or... "The company makes us sign something saying we will not join any opportunity etc. etc. blah blah blah" Neither is acceptable if you have common sense.

You would be far better off getting yourself a toll free voice mail number and running your own ad in USA Today on a Friday. If your ad copy is decent you will get a couple hundred calls. And then you will not have to deal with any of the headaches associated with buying leads.

Simply ask yourself if you want to grossly over pay for worthless leads who have already been called a zillion times and are not even remotely qualified for what you want or if you would rather talk with serious people sho have the money and the mindset to get started immediately?

Another trick lead brokers use all the time is changing the dates on lead lists to make them appear fresh. Feel like buying a list of names and numbers that are literally two years old? Call up a lead broker and that's most likely what you will get! You may get a list of names taken from one of those frisbies... I mean CD's containing 80 million names on it that claims to be priceless etc.

Be smart. Use your head. Don't buy leads.

A Wake Up Call Regarding Network Marketing

By Rolf Rasmusson

Network Marketing

We need to restate that Network Marketing works and is definitely here to stay. The negative news from time to time is just plain nonsense. This business remains to be the last free bastion of free enterprise and a great resource for most of us to break away from the traditional rat race. Where else can a person go to start up a huge business without a major expense and support than Network Marketing?

It's really very simple. You approach people that like you want to exit the rat race, provide for their families and work from home. Sure makes good sense I think you would agree. You will need to make a few decisions as to how you're going to build your network and that isn't rocket science either. With the use of computers, email, tapes, cd roms and the phone it's really not that hard.

Where the system beaks down is that these resources aren't being used by us to build a business so we experience a sometimes aggravating experience for a short period of time. We will need to think, act and talk to do this business. Many have not had to use these different communication methods so it does take a little practice and effort.

The rewards of building your business will more than offset the little discomfort we feel in using skills not previously honed. As you go things become easier and frankly enjoyable. Much can be said for the major methods and tactics used to build this business but frankly speaking it’s quite simple. You may not be able to automate the total process because of a limited budget but that’s fine. Follow your plan and you'll get to where you want to go.

The main consideration and thinking relates to the time it takes to build your network. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither are networks. So be patient as you start your journey into network marketing and things will work out just fine.
All you ever wanted to know about Network Marketing and more…

Why 95% of Network Marketers Fail and Why this is Good News for You

By Serena Tan

Network marketers. Direct selling. MLM. What comes to mind when you hear these phrases? Aggressive, pushy salespeople? A family member or friend you want to avoid because he can't stop talking about his new business and all the wonderful products his family loves?

The network marketing industry has given thousands of individuals a chance to experience what it is like to work for themselves without the high costs traditionally associated with regular brick-and-mortar businesses.

At the same time, it is not without its detractors. Top of the list is an oft-quoted statistic that 95% of network marketers fail and only 5% succeed. Type in "95% failure rate network marketers" in Google and you'll see what I mean. This statistic is often attributed to the US Small Business Administration. However, when I last checked the SBA website's FAQs, what it said was: "Two-thirds of new employer establishments survive at least two years, and 44 percent survive at least four years, according to a recent study. These results were similar for different industries."

So is this 95% figure a myth to convince you that the odds are stacked against the network marketing newbie from the start?

And if there is some basis for the claim that an overwhelming majority fail at network marketing, what are the possible causes? More importantly, what does this mean for you if you are considering an opportunity with a network marketing company?

Judging from the testimonials of those who have been disillusioned by the industry, there are several possible reasons why an individual may fail:
He's with the wrong company. He's not wild about the products. When people ask him what's great about the products, he can't quite explain it. The compensation plan is not working for him. The monthly quota is not sustainable in his present financial situation and is draining his resources. He finds himself saddled with products he cannot finish consuming or cannot sell. He is not getting the upline support he needs.
The company's Heavy Hitters practise the old-school philosophy of Recruit-Recruit-Recruit, i.e. marketing by numbers. And he just happens to hate selling and prospecting and cold calling. His network is limited. Soon he runs out of leads. No leads means no customers, and no customers means no downlines.
It's all about the money, and only about the money. He thinks network marketing is his quick ticket to a life of leisure in a beach house in the Caribbean, with minimal effort on his part.
He doesn't treat his network marketing business as a real business. It's like a part-time hobby which he fits in around his day job. But he expects real results, and preferably a pay check next month.
He has no long-term vision of what he wants to achieve with his business. No mission statement. No 5- or 10-year plan. No SMART goals.
He lacks persistence (gives up before he sees results).
He is not willing to put in consistent effort over a period of time.

Is there a better way to do business so that you can make it to the top and actually have fun while getting there?

Yes, but only if you change your attitude and get serious about your network marketing business.

First, ask yourself if this is the right vehicle for you. Not everyone enjoys talking to people they don't know. Some of us are natural salespersons; some are not. You need to know yourself and what your strengths and preferences are. You can't change your personality to fit your business because that's the core of who you are; you just have to find a way to work with it.

Now, if you are sure network marketing is for you, or you are at least open to learning how to do it well, the next step is to decide which company to align yourself with. With so many network marketing companies out there, how do you know which one is the right fit for you? This calls for due diligence and plenty of legwork.

Ask yourself these questions before signing up:
Are you in broad agreement with the company's philosophy and vision? Or is this something you couldn't care about either way?
Are the products what you would use for yourself and your family? Are they of high quality and consumable? How expensive are they compared to store-bought equivalents? Are they safe for you and for the environment? What are the ingredients and how concentrated and readily absorbed are they? Do they contain harmful chemicals? How do they rate against their competitors?
Is the company well run? What is its track record in the industry like? Is it a new player or well established? How is its financial health? Have there been lawsuits against the company? Why? What were the outcomes?
Testimonials from users of its products. Are they satisfied? Would they buy the products again? What are they telling others about the company and the products? Are there more complaints or compliments? What about testimonials from experienced as well as novice distributors. How long have they been in the business? Are they making money? Are they getting the support they need to succeed or are they complaining about a lack of training and resources?
Is the compensation plan something you can understand and work? Whether it's a Stairstep Breakaway or a Uni or a Binary or a Forced Matrix, you need to know exactly what you are required to do to get the most out of it. If you can't understand it, ask questions until you do.
How easily can you get access to information about the company? How is the customer service? How are the distributors' and support staff's product knowledge? Do you feel confident that you will be able to get the support you need if you join? If you have questions about the business, how responsive is your sponsor or the company HQ? What do other distributors say about this?

One thing you absolutely must get right: network marketing is not a way to get rich quick. Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise. Network marketing is a business like any other, and needs to be treated seriously. This requires a business plan, goal setting, being accountable for results - and lots of plain hard work. The same principles that operate in a traditional business environment apply equally to a network marketing business. Those who succeed in network marketing are those who are committed to doing whatever it takes to get there.

So how can you beat the odds and succeed at network marketing? By doing what most network marketing experts don't know about and are not practising. And here's the good news – the best practices listed here are in fact your ticket to building your own special niche (or Brand of One, as Ken Evoy puts it) and creating for yourself a reputation for being up there with the best!

Best Practices for Serious Network Marketers

Network marketing is a people business, not a sales business. It is about building relationships and winning trust, not about recruiting numbers to boost your downline. It's not even about the products. In the words of network marketing expert, Michael Dlouhy, "People join people. They don't join a company." Michael is of the view that least 85% of the population HATES being sold to. Now if he is right, then the traditional heavy hitting methods won't work; they will only frighten off and alienate these people, leaving you with just 15% to work with. Why would you start your business with the statistics against you?

Do it the better way: put People First and Profits Second. Be generous with your time and information. Don't worry about how and if it will lead to more sales or more recruits. It will take longer to see results, but your efforts will pay off. When people come to trust you and admire you so much that they want to join your company because of you, you will have succeeded. Think about this. You will have people coming to you without you having to chase or push anyone. These people are keen to find out more about your business because you have helped them in the past. They are attracted to you and the way you have been building a relationship with them.

Now think about it the other way. If your security is in numbers and your focus is only on products or opportunity, where would you stand when your company collapses or another company comes up with a superior product? On the other hand, if people follow you, then if things don't work out with your company, you can always move on to a new one and take your team with you. Now that is true security!

Raise your standards. Seek excellence, not short term financial gain. Want to build a business that lasts? Then invest in personal excellence. Do more. Give more. Be more. Work harder. Work smarter. Over deliver. And do all this with integrity and the interests of others at heart. Make it a point to learn something new every day. Read books, listen to audio CDs, attend tele-seminars by those who have succeeded. Learn about success, self-improvement, positive thinking, networking, sales and marketing, developing people, building relationships. Find a mentor. Be a mentor to someone else. Keep paying it forward. Keep a journal so you can look back on your journey and marvel at all you've achieved. Out of that consistent effort will flow new ways of thinking and seeing and relating, ways that will add to your personal and business success and keep you fresh and excited and positive about your life.

They say the battle is won or lost in the mind. Shape your mind so that your attitudes and actions will be consistent with success. Then, teach your downlines how they can do the same. In time to come, you will find that your downlines will start writing their own success stories by modeling themselves on you and spreading the word about you. That is the true spirit of duplication, having a system that works just as well with one person as with a thousand. That is the true power of network marketing.

How To Choose The Right Network Marketing Opportunity

By Devon Brown

People are always asking me how I choose which companies to join. Well, in all honesty I have been playing this game so long that it now takes me all of 30 seconds to make up my mind regarding whether or not the company is even worth my time.

Here are a few of the things I look for when considering a company:

1. The company needs to be legit and offer a legit product or

service with mass appeal.

I know I've said before that products don't matter, but if we are going to do this thing right then we might as well offer something some people may actually want. Not to mention the fact that we don't need the headaches from the government's regulatory agencies.

2. The company needs to have a price point of entry with mass

appeal.

In other words it can't cost an arm and a leg to join. What is affordable to Peter is not necessarily cheap to Paul. I may have $10,000 sitting in the bank, and if that's the case then paying $995 or $3,995 to get into a program is easy for me.

But the reality is that most of us don't have that kind of money (at least that amount that they may be willing to risk). I would argue that the best price point is actually anything under $300. This way, most people can afford it. Many very successful people would disagree with me and argue that the higher the price point the more serious the people involved. They would also argue that the higher the price point the larger the commission checks. I agree with them to a certain extent but as far as the masses are concerned, most people don't have $2000 to join and then another $2000 to advertise.

3. The pay plan must allow for fast upfront monies as well as long

term residual monies.

Let's face some reality here folks, if Bob does not get his first paycheck quickly then he is out the door. A company needs to pay weekly bonus checks as well as monthly residual checks (heck, truth be told, its really great when you can even get paid daily). When I used to sell cars I used to get paid 4 or 5 times a month...it was a great feeling and it kept me motivated.

Think of it kind of like someone joining the gym and trying to lose 40 pounds. The reason that most people quit the gym is because they don't see any immediate results and therefore don't get any immediate reward for going. Adult human beings are just like kids and puppies we need to be rewarded quickly for the simplest things at least at first.

4. THE COMPANY MUST HAVE AN AUTOMATED SYSTEM THAT

DOES THE MARKETING, EXPLAINING, SELLING, SIGNUP AND

DUPLICATION.

Every company claims to have this but hear me and hear me well when I say that... "THERE IS NOT ONE AFFORDABLE COMPANY OUT THERE THAT HAS CREATED A TRULY EASY AUTOMATED SYSTEM".

Some companies have come close but no-one (to the best of my knowledge) has really hit the nail on the head. No company has created the ability to have someone sign-up and then push a button that says “do it for me”.

This 4th and final requirement is the piece of the success puzzle that everyone is missing.

Now...don't be fooled by imposters; every company out there claims to have an "automated system" but the small handful of companies that seem to have decent systems usually cost thousands of dollars to join. (Way too expensive for the average person trying to make it)

To be completely honest with you, there is not one company out there that really has it figured out (at least in my opinion).

The biggest piece of advice I can give you is this:

Look at what you had to go through to sign up, if you were chased down by someone or 3-wayed to an upline, or any of that mess, then chances are you will have to do the same thing to get others to join under you.

But, if the system was easy enough and explained everything well enough so that you didn't even have to talk to your upline, then chances are the system as a whole is relatively hands off.

Now please don't get me wrong. I understand with and agree with some of the principles and concepts behind talking to people on the phone and actually creating a relationship with them. But as far as I am concerned, we can become buddies later.

Want to Lose Friends and Family Through MLM? Do It the Traditional Way!

By Thien Kai Wei

MLM marketing, in its traditional form, has always relied on marketers having a list of warm contacts, such as relatives and close friends and acquaintances. Internet MLM, on the other hand, has revolutionized the way that MLM business is conducted and taken the pressure off of marketers to rely on bugging their friends and family.

The Old MLM Vs Online MLM If you have been involved in MLM in the traditional sense, you will be all too familiar with this particular scenario: You find a great MLM company, join and write out your warm contacts list. This mainly consists of friends, family, relatives and next-door neighbors. You call them and tell them all about the business and how much it has to offer them. In return your friends and family will begin avoiding you through fear of you bugging them again or pestering them to join your new business.

The problem here is that, in order to find people who will thrive in your MLM business, you need to reach further than just your warm contacts, yet you don't want to start cold calling people through the telephone directory.

This is how the Internet has changed the way that MLM prospecting is conducted. With the Internet, you have a limitless reach to find prospects regardless of distance or even geographical boarders. In fact, you don't even need to know the contacts that you are making. They can and more than likely will be complete strangers. The contacts that you make over the Internet will also have a higher sign up percentage, as well.

Let me explain: When you make contacts through the Internet, those people get to know you through the information you present to them. Whether it is the products your MLM Company is offering or the lucrative business opportunity. Internet users see this information and they have a choice. If they are interested, they will click on your link to learn more about it. Instead of trying to find interested warm contacts, you can instantly draft out who is interested and who isn't simply by using information to find these interested people.

Internet multi-level marketing has given marketers the opportunity to make contacts who are interested enough to click on a link or an ad and contact you themselves. You no longer have to risk losing your friends and family to get your MLM business off the ground, making you more likely to succeed.

The latest trend in MLM is selling information as a product. In fact, some programs specialize in educating and informing their participants in order to enrich their lives. These information products are very cost effective, which means you need less capital in order to get your business up and running. Promotion is also much easier since the product is not physical, it can immediately be presented to a prospect with as little as a laptop and an Internet connection, regardless of the prospects location.

Does That Mean Internet MLM Is Easier? Internet marketing is easier, but don't make the mistake of thinking that with the use of Internet MLM you will be able to set up a website and immediately have money come rolling in without any effort on your part. You still need to put in a lot of effort and be dedicated enough to experiment with your marketing techniques, as well as be prepared to spend time with your down line to ensure their success, which is the key to growing your own business.

Are All Online MLM Businesses Good? Online MLM is no different to traditional MLM in the sense that careful research and thought must go into the opportunity before signing up for it. Often, you may come across MLM businesses that are selling the business opportunity as the product. When looking for a good MLM business you need to make sure that they have a stable, good quality product as well as business opportunity. Products and the business opportunity are two very different things.

In order for an MLM opportunity to work, you will need both a great product as well as an equally good business opportunity. Without both of these things you can't have a successful MLM business

When you begin your business you can promote the products. Once you have satisfied customers, you have opened the door to the promotion of the business opportunity by offering them the chance to promote the products that they love to others, as well as make an income.

MLM groups that don't have a solid product never last for long. It doesn't take long for those who start the business opportunity to realize that they aren't making any money and drop out. Once this happens the entire structure of the MLM begins to crumble. MLM groups that rely on these tactics are using an illegal pyramid scheme rather than a real MLM opportunity.

Conclusion The main reason people seek out an MLM opportunity is to achieve success, to obtain a means to reach a goal, whether it is to gain a little extra income or to quit their day job all together. By using online methods to run your MLM business, you have the advantage of finding success easier and quicker than ever. But remember that even with the use of the Internet, you still have to be motivated and determined to make your MLM business a success, give your business the time, effort and respect that it deserves and it will be worth it for you.
